The number of times I've closed and forgotten to save are astounding, so an autosave in the options would be amazingly helpful
yeh, we're thinking of adding it, but autosave comes with many new complications.
@Haya: Was this just implemented? When i want to test something small, it saves it.... How can i turn this off!!!!
@burnsbeaver: it is implemented now, you can't turn it off for now. Think about it like google docs, it autosaves all the time for you.
@Haya: Interesting. Thanks for the reply. I feel like you should have to initiate the save once on a project, then it would start autosaving. Half of people use repl as a quick testing tool, and dont want to save all these 1 line projects. Just a thought! Thanks again!
@burnsbeaver: you're welcome. thanks for letting us know how you use Repl.it, I appreciate that. But not half of the people use Repl.it as a quick testing tool. We wouldn't implement a feature that would take three month of constant work, of 12 hours a day because we felt like it. People use Repl.it to write huge programs and for content creation, and we would like to support this, we don't want anyone to loose their work.
If you don't want your work to be saved you can simply delete it.
@Haya: can we expect opt-out auto-save option in near future? Bcz its a headache with with React auto-compile thing.
@burnsbeaver: +1, having to delete projects after some super-quick prototyping is kinda annoying
