Peer Reviewed Repl Talk

Repl talk has a lot of spam. You get empty joke posts, or just posts that people put no effort into and share anyway. That's why I am suggesting peer review. Each post that was made would first have to be reviewed by two community members or one moderator. Once it has been reviewed, if the review was positive, the post will automatically move to the share board. If the review was negative, the user will get a private notification explaining the reviewer's motives for the negative review. This could help curb spam, and also improve the quality of posts in general.

It sounds amazing, but its like adding down votes. LOTS of people will abuse it just to make their post get to hot.
Happens a lot on reddit :\
Maybe make make it so the people have to be approved, like the "mini-mods" suggestion where only trusted members of repl.it can

Just as an update, this issue has not been forgotten about, and we are actively talking about how to improve the situation.

I think that there should be something like this, but where three people have to recommend it to get on a separate board, perhaps "recommended"

<Personal opinion>Problem is “no effort” is hard to determine though... some are truly low effort, while others are just people sharing their first hello world repl. Plus, reviewing talk posts is not a good idea, the reviewers could be trollers, plus reviewers have different standards. In addition, foreign coders, who already have to learn (some) English to post, and who are also probably in different time zones will probably get their posts reviewed later, and possibly disapproved since their posts will most likely be shorter, with less description or bad English.</Personal opinion>

Hey, I already made some changes:
- trending algorithm is harder now
- you can't post/comment/upvote without a verified email
Let's try this for a bit and see if it solves some of the problems you're describing.

@Amjad Masad: Oh yeah, I noticed it too, the trending algorithm seems to be working better now!

This is good idea. But it’s very hard to scale. We’ll look into this and try to curate better content.
Can you tell me more about your experience on talk?

@hayaodeh: This isn't really a problem for me in particular, I've just noticed an uptick in low-quality and low-effort posts, which somehow get lots of cycles.
